Taga distribution block

In this feature we are looking at the standard Taga distribution block because it really is a key product in the Vertex range. The simple description for this item is its a 6-way distribution block - but that's just how it appears on the outside - essentially one IEC inlet on one end and 6 sockets along the top. The only other thing you will notice is its a fair bit chunkier than the average block.

But of course its what's inside that's important.

Beneath the row of sockets (Schuko and US available), are 2 modules. The internal wiring coming from the IEC inlet passes through the first module, before being star-wired to the 6 sockets (using SP OFC conductors). In this first module is an acoustic absorption labyrinth which drains away vibration directly from the core conducting wire. For those unfamiliar of the principles and effects of vibration in cables, this problem in essence sends vibration energy along your cables which causes microphonic distortion. With this absorption module within the Taga, the levels of that vibration in the cables connected to it is significantly reduced, bringing a considerable improvement in the transparency of your system.

The second module within the Taga is essentially the same as our Silver Jaya shunt filter. This module is a very effective RFI filter, and one of the key features of this design is its own low-microphony construction. Also what is important is that the filter is not in line with the power-supply path - it is in parallel with the main wiring and thus cannot impede the current demand of high-power amplifiers. Also, the feed wires, and the circuit wiring of the filter, are solid-core silver with Teflon insulation which further improves the filter's performance. This RFI filtering substantially reduces background noise, hash and harsh treble.

Because there is a considerable amount of Vertex technology packed into this distribution block, it delivers a considerable performance punch in a very usable package. Sonically the improvements are a great all-round lift in musicality - music has more drama, flow and pace, the system reveals far more depth and subtlety from recordings, tonality is richer and more vibrant.

The reality is you are much closer to the performance.
